The goal of this site is to provide a service to people which will allow them to rate, recommend, and receive recommendations for books. This service will provide a central point for finding out not what the professionals say about books, but what your peers say. This site is meant to be community driven, meaning that the users are the ones who control what information is on the site. We are also very open to suggestions for making the site more user friendly. We cannot guarrantee that all suggestions will be implemented but all of them will be considered.

This site is meant to be a social network for people who want to share their view of books, by rating and recommending books, and interacting with other users who like the same types of books.

The recommendation system we use is very simple. It looks at the books you rate and then recommends books that are like that one based on genre, the ratings of others who liked those books, and other factors. As you find users whose ratings you trust, their recommendations will also influence what the system recommends for you. Just remember, the more books you rate and the more buddies you make means better and better recommendations. The end results are recommendations that suit your tastes.
